Probate, Trust Administration and Guardianships

I will take the time to understand your unique needs and advise you about what actions to take after a loved one dies.

Some issues I have extensive experience resolving include:

  • Probate: I will help you administer your loved one's estate so that their assets are properly distributed to the appropriate beneficiaries under the terms of their will. If no will exists, then the property will be dispensed according to the law. I will skillfully represent you with all accountings and hearings that arise throughout the probate process.
  • Trust administration: I typically assist trustees with complying with the terms of a trust, including transferring assets, liquidating assets and accountings - documenting where the money is going for the trust beneficiaries.
  • Guardianships: I help clients obtain or transfer guardianship of loved ones who are generally elderly or disabled and can no longer properly care for their own needs. Taking this action will give you the legal responsibility to make medical (nursing home choice, consent to surgery), financial (paying bills, selling assets) and personal decisions on behalf of your loved one.
